Dutch doors can be a simple 4’0” half gate or two double panels which allow the top and bottom to open and close independently. Half Dutch Doors are used to retain horses in their stall and are the most economical of hinged stall gate systems. Double Dutch doors are primarily used on the back of stalls to allow access to the back paddock area. The solid double door top can be left open to allow ventilation and lower door closed to retain horse in stall. In some cases double dutch doors are used in the front of the stall. When this is necessary, half dutch bar top doors are recommended to promote adequate airflow.
